With unique experience across the field, Autumn Beck has been supporting artists, galleries, museums and private collections for decades, calling upon the knowledge and expertise gained during tenures with industry leading organizations.

Early aughts were spent working with private collectors, artists and museums coordinating international museum logistics with MASTERPIECE INTERNATIONAL and lead to passing the U.S. Customs Brokers License Exam in 2011. 

As Head Registrar at HAUSER & WIRTH, was part of the small founding team that opened the multi-building gallery complex in Los Angeles with ‘Revolution in the Making: Abstract Sculpture by Women, 1947 – 2016,’ the inaugural exhibition. Through the following years, managing artwork care, incoming & outgoing loans, insurance, negotiating storage contracts, as well as working with photographers, conservators, vendors and shippers to meet needs of artists, directors and clients.

Highlights include:   Jason Rhoades Installations, 1994 - 2006, the largest exhibition of the artist works in one place comprised of multiple intricate installations from the artists estate as well as institutional and private collections. In 2017, coordinated logistics and planning for U.S. Pavillion installation of Mark Bradford: Tomorrow is Another Day at the Venice Art Biennale; traveling for install and deinstallation, negotiating with various interested parties, advocating as needed and seeing through to full success. In 2018, provided significant artist support to Lucita Hurtado Estate in advance of exhibitions at the HW New York & Swiss locations as well as the career survey, ‘I Live I Die I Will Be Reborn’ coordinated by the Serpentine 2019 and traveled to LACMA in 2020. One of the last major exhibitions while at the gallery was David Hammons, 2019, an extraordinary opportunity to work with the artist in his unique style for installation of the exhibition in three galleries as well as the courtyard and garden spaces; preparation meets improvisation.

2020 changed the world and within the forced incubation, ART-DOULA was formed. Taken from the life experience of certification as a birth doula in 2012 and working with expectant mothers, the correlations in advocacy and support became clear. As interlocutor or in active assistance, helping artists with projects is a form of birth support, proper care of a collection provides the invaluable and practical foundation needed for longevity, while the planning and preservation involved in legacy work is how we actively engage in art history.

LUNA LUNA, an art amusement park from 1987, reemerged from obscurity and long term storage in 2022. As part of the small team of collections professionals, art technicians, and restorers, 44 shipping containers were unpacked and history pieced back together. Deep cleaning, conservation and thorough research went into the two years of work to bring more than half of the collection back to life, produced and exhibited to the public in ‘Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy’ in both Los Angeles & NYC in 2024-2025.
